Calling All Chocoholics to the Annual Chocolate Festival!

 

            Chocolate doesn't make the world go around ... but it certainly makes the ride worthwhile! The American Red Cross of Medina County and the J.M. Smucker Company invite you and all your friends to the 13th annual "For the Love of Chocolate" Festival.  The 2010 event will feature decadent chocolate items from 45 chocolatiers, Saturday, February 6, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a NEW LOCATION at the Medina Performing Arts Center at Medina High School, 851 Weymouth Rd., Medina.

           If you love chocolate, you’ll love this year’s event.  All attendees age 5 and older must have a ticket to enter the event.  Ticket prices are $10 and $5.

 This family-oriented event features a Children’s Chocolate Cookie Contest; a Decadent Chocolate Dessert Contest for professional cooks and adult and teen hobby cooks; a Children’s Candyland area with games and amusements; a bake sale featuring contest winners and a snack bar provided by Dominic’s Restaurant.  Chocolatiers also sell scrumptious items that are perfect for Valentine’s Day.

             This year's chocolatiers are The Bee's Knees Custom Cakes, Bittersweet's, Bob Evans Restaurant, Buehler's Fresh Foods, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar, The Center Care at Medina County Career Center, Chocolate Mischief, Cookies by Design, Coppertop at Cherokee Hills, Cutler Real Estate, Diabetic Delights, Diane's Candy and Cake Supplies, Discount Drug Mart, Dove Chocolate Discoveries, Drummond Chocolate, Eat 'n Park Restaurant, Emeritus at Camelot Place/Medina, Half Caked Treats, Harry and David, Just Desserts, J.V. Jerky, Katy's Kreations, Keric Korn and Candy, Lodi Community Care Center, Lodi Station Outlets, Longaberger Independent Branch, Lori's Little Wonders, Madd Chef's, Mapleside Farms and Restaurant, Maximum Potential Chiropractic, McJak Candy Company, Medina County Auditor, Michelle Candy Company, Plum Creek Senior Living, River Styx Market, Rose's Foods, Save Ohio Strays, The Senior Employment Center, Steak 'n Shake, Sweet Cream Confections, Sweet Endings Cake and Confections, Tastefully Simple, Trails of Montville, Usborne Books and More, and West Side Bakery.

             Samples include items like chocolate cake, truffles, hot chocolate, brownies, chocolate cookies, chocolate cupcakes, peanut butter cups, chocolate-covered pretzels, chocolate-covered popcorn, virgin chocolate martinis, caramel apples, chocolate tart candles, woopie pies, chocolate milkshakes, molded chocolate houses, chocolate-covered peanuts, milk chocolate hearts, fudge, lollipops, chocolate fountain, oreo pie, cappuccino biscottini, Lindor chocolates, may cakes, chocolate golf balls, chocolate ice cream, Walnut Creek chocolates, Malley's chocolates, chocolate pops, chocolate bars, chocolate pizzas, cinnamon bites dipped in chocolate, chocolate-covered strawberries, white chocolate cheesecake, buckeyes, peanut butter patties, peppermint paddy cookies, chocolate flavored coffee, Rocky Mountain chocolate, toffee with chocolate and pecans, and cake truffles.             

            The Decadent Dessert and Chocolate Cookie Contests will be held Friday, February 5, at Buehler’s Market at 3626 Medina Rd., Medina.  After judging, all non-perishable contest entries will be sold at the Chocolate Festival bake sale.
