‘Heat It Up for Haiti’ Chili Cook -Off February 12
Enjoy over 15 samples of chili and help Haiti relief efforts at the ‘Heat It Up for Haiti’ Chili Cook-Off. This local event is being sponsored by Friends of Medina City Schools in partnership with the local chapter of the American Red Cross on Friday, February 12, 5:30-7 p.m. at Medina High School.
Tickets are $3 each with half of the proceeds going toward relief efforts. Your ticket will allow you to sample over 15 types of chili and vote on the People’s Choice. To date entries include the following elementary schools: Canavan, Garfield, H. G. Blake, Northrop, Waite, Heritage and Fenn along with Claggett and Root middle schools; Medina City Schools Foundation, Board of Education, Harmony Helpers, PACE Team, Central Office, and the Medina City Schools Media Team.
The event will also include a raffle for an iPod Touch. Winner does not need to be present.
Celebrity judges Mayor Hanwell, Police Chief Berarducci and Executive Director of the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce Debra Lynn-Schmitz will determine the winners of Judge’s Choice and Most Original. The winner will be announced during half-time of the boys’ Varsity Basketball Game. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. versus Garfield Heights.
