Description:

This is a two-day workshop teaching basic fishing skills to beginners. Topics will include equipment and how to use it, types of line, knot tying, proper sizes of hooks, use of live and artificial bait, types and uses of lures, fish handling, how to filet fish and prepare them for the frying pan, basic reel and rod repairs, and local fishing hot spots. The class will be taught by instructors who are involved in the State of Ohio’s Passport to Fishing program. No prior fishing experience or equipment is needed. Ages 16 and up. Register by Monday, April 9. Free.
