Description:

Despite being the second largest mammal on land and widely reported to be responsible for several human deaths in Africa, these amazing mammals were virtually "undiscovered" by the scientific community. Glenn Feldhake will reveal the mysterious origins and theories behind the natural history and behavior of hippos. He will also share about their interactions with the environment and the debates surrounding their conservation. Glenn has crisscrossed the globe to study hippos in the wild, trained safari guides, consulted on multiple documentaries, and appeared on the National Geographic Channel. Glenn currently lives in Medina County and is in charge of hippo conservation for the World Conservation Union (IUCN). Copies of his book Hippos: Natural History and Conservation for purchase at the end of the presentation. No registration required. Free. Ages 10 to adult.
