Sunday, March 14 - 2:00 PM

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its free Wadsworth Public Library concert series with Americana group Any Road on March 14, 2021, at 2:00 pm. Any Road program will consist of a discussion of the history of American music which is broadly classified under the umbrella term of “Americana”, from its roots in blues and Appalachian mountain music, to the melding with folk and country that characterizes the genre’s artists most recently found on “Americana” charts. The ensemble will perform examples of the genre through popular music history featuring instrumentation such as banjo, mandolin, acoustic guitar, cajon and washboard.

The Wadsworth Public Library is located at 132 Broad Street, in Wadsworth. Reserve your seat online at www.ormaco.org or call 330-722-2541.

About the Artists

Nancy (Rogers) Peters is a versatile percussionist who has performed with musical groups from concert bands, military bands, and symphony orchestras to jazz, rock and world-music ensembles. She received her Master of Arts degree in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Illinois State University. She also completed doctoral coursework (ABD) in percussion performance at the University of Georgia. Nancy has worked as an educator and well as a performer, teaching both percussion performance and music history and appreciation courses at Illinois State, University of Georgia and Ferris State University.

Scott Morris, hailing from Cuyahoga Falls, began his musical pursuits by singing in the school chorus from grades 4 through 10, and studying piano for two years. At age 14, he began playing guitar in his first garage band, including some live performances, and was with the group for two years. After putting down the guitar for many years, he began playing again five years ago, with influences from 1960s top 40, such as the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Byrds, to later groups of the 60s and 70s, including Neil Young, Yes, Jimi Hendrix and Cream.
