Join Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) as we travel to Chicago to experience “Frida Kahlo 2020” at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art at the McAnich Arts Center and Belushi Performance Hall on Saturday, August 29, 2020. The exhibition will present 26 original works by Kahlo on loan from the Museo Dolores Olmedo in Mexico City, featuring a selection of oil paintings and works on paper that span the artist’s life.
Alongside the 26-piece collection is an immersive exhibition that features a multimedia timeline of the artist’s life, a video presentation, reproductions of Kahlo’s clothing and a “poetry garden” designed by Ball Horticultural Company. These historical exhibits allow viewers to understand Kahlo’s life and artwork through a variety of different contexts, providing a framework of the personal events and circumstances that led Kahlo to become one of the most significant painters of the 20th century and our time.
Depart Buehler’s River Styx in Medina at 6 a.m. and enjoy muffins and mimosas as we travel to the Windy City. Upon arrival, enjoy a self-guided tour of this impressive exhibit. From here, the bus will drop the group in Central Chicago where you can enjoy the balance of the day at leisure exploring the Windy City. Board the bus at 11 pm and arrive back in Medina around 6 am on Sunday, August 30. $155 per person includes round-trip transportation, entrance to the exhibit, muffins and mimosas and snacks and beverages on the return trip.
