December First Friday: Candlelight Walk

Street Closures: The downtown streets will close (College, Main, Broad, High, north Watrusa) at 4:30 p.m., reopening at 9:30 p.m. Lyman, Pardee, south Watrusa, King, Boyer, Mills, and Wright Drive will all remain open.


The Main Street Wadsworth table will be selling 2020 “Friend of Main Street Wadsworth” memberships and Wadsworth coffee table books. Coffee table books were originally $30 retail. They are being sold for $5.00 each and make great gifts. Join as a member and receive a free coffee table book with membership!


The Wadsworth High School Marching Band will perform at the Gazebo 5:30-6:00 p.m. (weather permitting).


The Tree Lighting Ceremony with Mayor Robin Laubaugh and the Salvation Army will be held at the Gazebo at 5:45 p.m.


Luminaries will light the sidewalks, provided by Plastipak and Root Candle Company.


Twilight Farms will be providing free horse and carriage rides, sponsored by Premier Family Dental, the Medina County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Blue Tip Festival Committee.


The Summit Chordsmen Barbershop Quartet will be downtown at the American Legion and strolling into businesses to sing.


Ice-n-Dice will be providing a live holiday ice carving display on College Street.


A North Pole Mailbox will be at Gazebo Island for children to mail their letters to Santa.


Johnson House Museum- There will be a Gingerbread House Display set up in the museum. Children will be able to decorate and eat their own gingerbread cookie. The museum will be decorated in a Victorian theme and will be ideal for photo opportunities!


M.C. Real Estate - Stop by to see our Gingerbread House Display, decorations, and giveaway.  


Bicksler Electric - stop by and see some of the  North East Ohio dancers and cast members who will be performing in the Nutcracker at OJ Work Auditorium December 21, 2019 at 7pm and December 22, 2019 at 2pm.  Tickets will be available for purchase.


Opal Dragonfly Boutique - will be offering a make and take mini gingerbread house for kids to create. Make sure to check out our holographic Winter/Christmas window display. The boutique is also participating in the Salvation Army Red Kettle challenge, so make sure you also check out our decorated kettle.


Grace Lutheran Church - will be offering a cookie, a Make-It-Take-It from Home Depot and face painting.  


The Salvation Army of Wadsworth - will have 11 kettles that have been decorated by local organizations and businesses on display. We’ll be encouraging people to vote on their favorite kettle with their dollars and cents. We’ll also be participating in the lighting ceremony. 


Radiant Life Church- Elf themed booth, Live elves and reindeer characters, Photobooth for family pictures, ornament making for kids,  candy cane give-a-ways and Christmas movie trivia.


Wadsworth Public Library - Visit with Santa and Mrs Claus, free photo download courtesy of Glenn Rutherford Photography and a free holiday book for the first 300 children to visit Santa! Cozy up to the fireplace and read a book to therapy dog Mr. Finn,  enjoy the sounds of the Wadsworth High School Jazz Quartet and don’t forget to see our Wadsworth Public Library Foundation members for a free cup of hot cocoa!

Pillar to Post Home Inspectors and Safe Home Environmental Services - multiple gingerbread houses in window sill. Customers are encouraged to vote for their favorite as all will be made by our home inspectors. Elf themed office with coffee, snacks, the movie playing, etc.
