Fall Foliage Tour at York Twp Historical

Sunday, October 13 - 12:00 PM

The York Twp Historical Complex is a stop on the Medina County Fall Foliage Tour, a drive-it-yourself tour of agricultural, educational or historical stops. Stop by and take a tour of our complex at 6547 Spellman Street in Mallet Creek which features an 1890 one-room schoolhouse, 1891 post and beam barn, and 1883 granary. Exhibits include school desks and books, maps, records, early farm tools, horse-drawn carriages, restored 1700's barn loom, late 1800's Newcomb loom and early 1900's road grader.

Also on display will be antique cars and tractors and loom and spinning wheel demos and hit and miss engine demo. Activities for kids will include shelling and cracking corn, Buckeye necklaces and clothespin dolls. Bring your camera and take a family picture with the American Gothic couple.

Also in Mallet Creek, stop to visit the Gold Star Family Memorial in the York Twp Park across the street, one of 54 Gold Star Family Memorials in the United States. The memorial honors families who have lost family members while serving our country in the Armed Forces.
