Give yourself a special Autumn treat to Columbus, as we take in the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and their special Halloween exhibit featuring over 5,000 Pumpkins and 3,000 Mums! We’ll start with a docent-led, guided group tour of their many exotic wonders, including this spectacular seasonal tribute to Halloween. The Conservatory is truly a botanical jewel of Ohio and Fall is the perfect season to see it. After our visit there, we’ll have our own mini-Oktoberfest at SCHMIDT’S Sausage Haus and Restaurant. We’ll enjoy a German-themed buffet lunch including a one-man, Oom-pah-pah band! After lunch, we’ll travel to the small-but-mighty, Wagner-Hagans Car museum, a little-known gem with cars of the 1950’s and 60’s. If time allows, we’ll end up at the Anthony -Thomas Candy Factory, the largest family-owned candy company in the Midwest! We’ll have a mini- tour to see how they produce 60,000 pounds of candy daily at the facility built upon 104 years and 5 generations of passion to making chocolate!
