Jazz Standards & Improvisation

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach continues its Wadsworth Library Sunday Concert Series with Canton-based saxophonist Maxwell Byers. The program will include a selection of music composed by artists including: Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, George Gershwin and Duke Ellington. These songs are classic jazz tunes structured around simple melodies and chord progressions that can be altered with more complex scales and chord substitutions.
Admission is free, but reservations are recommended by calling 330-722-2541.

About Max Byers

Maxwell Byers is a musician born and raised in Canton, Ohio. He started playing saxophone under the instruction of the Canton City School District. Max has traveled around playing music to various parts of the country including California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He now resides in Massillon, Ohio where he teaches saxophone at the Music Shoppe of Downtown Massillon, and plays various shows with a variety of different bands.
