Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) presents Akron-based musician Joe Leaman and Friends as they bring to you the high-energy sounds of the Caribbean with their steel drums on the pier of HeARTland pond. Escape to the country with your lawn chairs and blankets as you sit around the pond, enjoy the music and watch the sunset in this pastoral setting. The concert is the culminating event of Art in the Country and serves as a fundraiser to help with music, arts and cultural outreach programs for underserved, disadvantaged and rural populations. About the Artist
Joe is an in-demand percussionist, pianist, composer, arranger and educator throughout the greater Ohio region. As a steel pannist, Joe’s enjoys showcasing the range and versatility of the instrument by playing jazz, classical, and pop music, as well as music of the traditional Caribbean canon. Joe plays an integral part in ORMACO outreach programs, including teaching steel drum to children in the Medina County Police Activities League afterschool program.
