John Caracillo: Traditional Blues

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its Sunday Wadsworth Library concert/workshop series with Massillon-based blues artist John Caracillo at 2 pm on May 10, 2020. John will begin the program by playing various traditional blues as well as some of his original music. He will provide a brief history of the blues and its influences in our culture and music. He will then discuss blues songwriting methods and goals, play some more tunes and will open the floor to Q and A.

About the Artist

John Caracillo is a singer/songwriter and guitarist for the band Naturally Blue. Born in Massillon, Ohio, he is a graduate from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and has performed at a variety of music venues, festivals and concerts throughout Ohio.

Art and music have always been a necessity and forefront in his life. At a young age, Caracillo developed a love for the blues, influenced by legendary artists such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolf, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  His hard-edge expressive vocal style blends with passionate and colorful guitar licks that are reminiscent of these great artists. Caracillo has a new original CD coming soon and another around the corner that combine a variety of styles, genres and stories that reflect on his life. Heartfelt and soulful performances that move his audience is key to his musical expression.
