Medina County and the Civil War

Saturday, April 8 - 1:00 PM

Medina County Historical Society program and membership meeting - Medina County at War Presentation

Medina County Historical Society presents Medina author and historian Dave Taylor with his PowerPoint presentation about Medina County in War from the Civil War - the first major conflict after Medina County became a county in Ohio in 1818 - to the present day. The event will cover the county’s citizens who went to war and those who stayed behind to support them and the service and sacrifices of both. Medina Counties sacrifice in war was notable. For example, when we see the losses Medina County suffered in the Civil War as a percent of the population at that time, if measured against today’s population in the county, the loss would have been over 3,500 county citizens. The PowerPoint presentation will last 35 minutes and then be open to questions and discussion.

This program is free and open to the public. It will be held at Medina County District library, 210 S. Broadway St., Medina, in Community room A/B on Saturday, April 8 at 1 PM . If you have any questions please call 330-722-1341 or email us at
