Question, Persuade, and Refer Training

Thursday, May 26 - 6:30 PM

Just like CPR, QPR will teach you three simple steps to assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis.

QPR Gatekeeper Training is a 1.5-hour educational program designed to teach the layperson or "gatekeepers" the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. This training will not teach you how to be a counselor, rather it will show you how to give hope to someone who is struggling with suicide ideations. It can be intimidating to ask about suicide, even if we can see the person is struggling and care about them deeply; QPR will help us learn how to have those conversations and where to refer people.

If you are a parent, friend, neighbor, teacher, coach, caseworker, police officer, or anyone else who is strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide, then this training is for you!

QPR is open to the public and recommended for high school-aged students and adults!

To register for the in person training, please register for a free ticket, linked on this site (20 spots total).
